Educators Needed

Dinky Di Children’s Learning Centres has various opportunities for dedicated and experienced Educator’s to join our Team (Casual, Full time and Part time positions ). Our services offer a comprehensive early education program with a strong play-based learning curriculum, where you will be supporting the Educational Leader to achieve positive learning outcomes for our children.

As a valued Educator, you will be supported by close-knit teams at our Dinky Di Children’s Learning Centres located throughout the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie regions. You will also be supported by our Leadership Team including our Regional Manager, who will support and encourage you in daily activities and guide you through your career development. Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certificate 3 or Diploma in Early Education and Care, or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA
  • A current, cleared Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Qualification (HLTAID004) specific for early childhood settings
  • Strong comprehension of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) and the knowledge and ability to apply its principles and practices to all aspects of the learning environment.
  • Be proficient in the documentation of children’s learning and development and be able to collaborate with the wider team to design & implement engaging, age appropriate experiences and spaces for the children.
  • A minimum 12 months experience in Early Education and Care.

Centre Director/ Nominated Supervisor

An exciting opportunity presents for an experienced Centre Director to join our Tumbi Umbi Day Care Team. Our centre is a busy 90 place long day care facility that provides Education and Care for children aged 6weeks – 6 years. The centre enjoys optimal occupancy figures and is looking for a Centre Director that is ready to guide our team of Early Childhood Educators and support them in the provision of Premium Early education and care.

The ideal applicant would be an Early Childhood Teacher with experience in centre management. Consideration will be given to applicants with a Diploma in Children’s Services and extensive experience in a centre management role.  The position is full time and salary and conditions in line with the Educational Services (Teachers) Award, or Children’s Services award if applicable. Above award conditions would be considered for the right applicant. In addition, our company offers a KPI incentive Bonus scheme and employee childcare fees discount, if applicable, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities.

Dinky Di Children’s learning Centres are currently located on the Central Coast and throughout the Lake Macquarie Region. The successful applicant will enjoy a working culture focused on quality education and care, innovation, and business growth in the local community.

Essential Experience or skills 

  • Proven post graduate experience in staff management and development.
  • Prior experience working with children birth-6 years in a long day care setting
  • Comprehensive working knowledge AND experience in implementing the National Quality Framework including the National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Education and Care National Regulations 2011
  • Knowledge of all current legislation’s governing early childhood education including Child Protection legislation, Code of Ethics, and anti-bias curriculum
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Workplace Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity principles
  • Computer skills: Microsoft suite essential.

Desirable Experience or skills

  • Experience managing a budget
  • Ability to achieve in a demanding, diverse, fast paced and sensitive environment with competing priorities and extensive administrative requirements
  • Demonstrated skills in interacting positively and effectively with community members and clients
  • Experience using QUIKIDS Software

Personal Attributes

  • Ability to manage an early childhood service
  • Demonstrate specific skills and practices in the care, nurture and education of children
  • Ability to identify training needs and a commitment to regularly update early childhood knowledge, including the implementation of current legislation.
  • Ability to show sound judgement, dependability, and initiative
  • Ability to be an empowering team leader, communicate effectively and apply conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques as required
